This Save-The-Date Ribbon is both unique and charming and is also really fun and easy to make. It’s a little time-consuming but once you get the hang of it you could do most of it in the evening whilst relaxing in front Summer Wedding Dresses of the TV.    STEP 1) Cut out your envelope template, place it on your, now double sided, card and draw around it with pencil. Cut out your envelope shape and use your rubber to rub out any pencil marks that may be visible.

  STEP 2) Using your ruler and scissors, score the card along where the dotted lines are on the envelope template. It is best to do this on the side of the card that you would like to be the inside of your envelope. Once you have scored along all four lines, use the ruler to fold the paper along these lines.

  STEP 3) Run a line of double-sided tape along the inside of the long tab and fold and stick as in the image below.

  STEP 4) Repeat this process for the slightly narrower, small tab. You will now have an envelope with one open flap ready for your save-the-date ribbon to go inside.

  STEP 6) Using a scalpel and cutting board or just a pair of scissors, cut out the numbers. Rub out any visible pencil marks with a rubber once you have done this.

  STEP 8) Take your ribbon and thread it from the back, through the hole in the first number in you date. Thread it through leaving enough ribbon to the right of the number for the rest of your date and then roughly an extra 20cm so that you can thread it through the card at the end and tie a bow. When you are happy with the spacing tie a knot in the ribbon so that the number will stay in place.

  STEP 9) Continue this process with the rest of your date leaving a small space between the date, month and year.

  STEP 10) To make the card, choose two sheets of paper, one that will sit behind and create a border and then one without a busy pattern that you will write on. Take the paper that will be the border piece and use your envelope as a reference for size. You will want to cut a rectangle shape that it very slightly smaller than the envelope so that it fits snugly inside.

  STEP 11) Then take your plain piece of paper and cut a rectangle that is about 1cm smaller on two sides than the previous one. Using your scalpel or scissors, cut two, 1cm slits towards the bottom of your plain piece of paper.

  STEP 12) Use your ruler and pencil and draw some lines above the slits for you to write your text. I then used the pencil to draft the words and make sure the spacing was right. Once I was happy I wrote over the top in my black fine liner and then rubbed out the pencil.

  STEP 13) Take the end of your ribbon and thread it from front to back through the first slit and then from back to front through the second. Pull the Ribbon through so that there is a nice amount of space between the date and the card and then tie a bow in the ribbon.

  STEP 14) Spread some glue stick over the back of this piece of paper and stick in the middle of Summer Wedding Dresses the larger rectangle so that there is an equal amount of border on all sides.

  STEP 15) Put a small amount of double-sided tape on the front of the other end of the ribbon.

  STEP 16) Stick this end of the ribbon on the inside of the envelope.

  STEP 18) Add some double-sided tape to the open tab of your envelope and stick it down to contain everything inside. Write the name and addresses of your guests on address labels and stick them on the front or the envelope

I have had such a busy week in wedding land so today I am heading off into Leeds with Paul to the Christmas Markets to catch up with one of our lovely couples whose wedding we shot back in July. I am so looking forward to it because I absolutely LOVE Christmas. It will be my first mulled wine if the year too! I will make sure I take loads of pictures and I will put them on Instagram.   United Nations data show that in 2013, 35 million people were living with HIV, 2.1 million people were newly infected with the virus and some 1.5 million people died of AIDS. By far the greatest part of the HIV/AIDS burden is in sub-Saharan Africa. Last time we heard all about Wedmin and Sarah and Del are back and this week.  They are talking all about Loose Ends and Outfits. Reading over Sarah and Del’s post they seem to be very organised. I love the outfit ideas. I’ll pass you over to Sarah and Del…..

Hello! It’s nearly December already! Where did all of that time go?! Wedding-wise, we’ve just passed the 6 months to go marker, and so as well as seeing some of our budget start to disappear on instalments for the more expensive of our suppliers, we’ve also jumped into action with lots of little things that we’d been meaning to do for ages. Del’s stag is booked – they’re off to Budapest – and Sarah’s just starting to plan her hen in Madrid. We’ve finalised cake flavours – it’ll be a multi-coloured, multi-flavoured naked cake. This weekend we’re off in different directions to parents’ homes – Del is hopefully getting his tartan trousers outfit sorted and Sarah is going to her Mum’s to talk beverages & alcohol!

This month we’ve also spent an obscene amount of money in HobbyCraft on all sorts of things for our DIY projects, and we’ve even started making our favours. We’ll talk more about our DIY projects in the coming months, but lets just say we’ve experimented with coloured pens, rubber stamps, various colours, different papers, computer programmes and cardboard letters. We’ve picked up various items in craft shops, train stations, newsagents, and we’ve been for walks in the park to get lots of inspiration for those projects. In the coming week or so we’re hoping to finalise ideas for some more DIY projects, and my Mum’s getting involved with her knitting too!

So, again, it’s been a busy month! But one of the things that keeps coming up, and it feels awful to say this, is getting frustrated with some suppliers. Not a week goes by where we are complaining that we are still waiting for X to get back to us despite three or four reminder emails. At the moment we’re trying to find a piper for the wedding, and have emailed somebody three times to no reply – we know people are busy, but it’d be nice to get a response within a week – it’s so frustrating waiting for somebody to get back to us. but enough with the complaining – wedding planning is mainly lots of fun!

The last major things to be sorted out are related to our outfits – Del needs to pick his (hopefully this weekend) and then over Christmas meet up with his ushers to hire their outfits too. For Sarah, it’s hair and accessories. And so we thought we’d say a few words about wedding outfits. We’re being pretty traditional outfits wise – Sarah knows what Del wants to wear, but Del is in the dark about Sarah’s dress. And so we thought we’d chat a little about the differences for us both when it comes to the other’s outfit.

Del: I have chosen a to wear tartan trousers (not trews – they’re too high-waisted for me!). It’s been great looking through different tartans, so many to choose Blue Cocktail Dresses from …even Vivienne Westwood creates tartans – who would have known! It’s pretty difficult to decide based on a tiny patch in a shop because it’s hard to imagine how it’d look as a pair of trousers. I have seen some nice tartans but feel that most may be a bit OTT when weaved into trousers. I felt that a brown tartan would be best without being melodramatic and have went for Manx Hunting Tartan. I’m looking for it to be smart without being overly formal. My Ushers are slightly concerned that I am going to get them looking like Rupert the Bear though!

Sarah: I think I had quite a big role in helping Del to decide what he’d like. And it’s good because we can plan according to his outfit – I have an idea of which colours and flowers will complement his choices. Besides, he’s always been known for his Blue Cocktail Dresses outlandish taste in clothes! I can’t imagine what it’d be like not to know what he’d decided to wear, but it would add to the fun – are there any couples out there each keeping their own outfit a secret from the other?

Sarah: I absolutely love my dress. When I started looking I had an idea of what I wanted, then went with something completely different. It’s funny, but I didn’t expect to fall in love with a dress when I started looking, just find one I thought looked quite nice. But I love it! It’s from the White Closet in Manchester, a shop just a few streets from our flat. And this has made it difficult sometimes as the dress can be in the window when we’re walking past. If Del’s not with me, I just have to stop to admire it – I absolutely love it – but when we’re together, it’s really hard not to react. I’ve started pulling a funny face each time we walk past the window, no mater which dress is in the window. It’s funny because I’m not that fussed about keeping my dress a secret, but Del really wants the surprise and anticipation, and so I’m respecting that by not telling him. That’s not to say we haven’t had drunken conversations where I’ve teased him about what it might be like, or thrown in a few red herrings to throw him off the scent. It’s become a really fun game! I love showing him dresses and getting him to tell me what he thinks, and seeing him trying to gauge my reaction to what he says! So I guess it’s not a bad things after all. When I’m feeling a bit stressed with wedding planning it’s a nice distraction.

Del: It’s weird to hear so much about something that I haven’t seen! I honestly don’t know what to expect, she love it so much I fully expect her to renew our vows the following year so she can wear it again! She normally wears simple clothes and doesn’t really follow trends, but then every so often buys something that doesn’t conform to her usual tastes – I think this might be the same. I imagine it would be non-white, and detailed but then again I may be miles off. If she ever asks me about dresses I never want to give to much away because I imagine I have rated her dress on one of these occasions!
